BRANCH REPUBLICAL UNION OF BANKS, FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS EMPLOYEES AND PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES OF TRADE OF ARMENIA

International connections

The 3-rd Congress of Branch Republican Union of Banks, Financial Institutions Employees and Professional Employees of Trade of Armenia was held on 24th of November, 2011.

On the 24th of November, 2011 the 3-rd reporting and re-elections Congress of Branch Republican Union of Banks, Financial Institutions Employees and Professional Employees of Trade of was held in “Golden Tulip” hotel, which started with anthem of the Republic of Armenia.

Warm massages were addressed to the Congress by: Chairs of Central Bank of RA, Confederations of Trade Unions of Armenia, Republican Branch Union of Professional Organizations of the Workers of State Enterprises, of Municipally Authorities and Public Service, Branch Republican Trade Union Organizations of Workers of Agro-industrial Division, Republican Branch Union of Trade Union Organizations of Light Industry Workers, Branch Republican Union of Trade Union Organizations Workers of Education and Science.

The delegates assessed sufficiently the implemented activities of the Chair and the Auditor Committee during 2007-2011.

Laura Hakobyan was elected as a Chair of the Branch Union for 5 years.

The Congress confirmed the 2012-2014 Action Plan of the Branch Union .

Meeting with international expert

Hubert Cambier ITUC Consultant had a pre Congress meeting with CTUA leadership and Chair of CTUA Branch Republican Unions. Relevant issues were discussed for CTUA Congress which will take place in 2012. Mr. Cambier also got information on Branch republic Unions’ activities, their problems and discussed the way they see for their solutions.

In 1997 began the cooperation between the BranchRepublican Union and the UNIGlobal Union.

In 1999 with the support of UNIGlobal UnionBranchRepublican Union took part in the regional seminar which took place in Athens, Greece.

In 2001 Branch RepublicanUnion became the member of UNI Global Union

In 2005 a seminar was organized in Yerevan with the initiative of OTOE Branch Trade Union of Banks in Greece concerning “Collective contracts” in which the member organizations of Branch Union took part.

In 2006 with the invitation of UNI Global Union the Branch Union took part in the event inMsocowdevoted to women.

In 2007 with the invitation of UNI Global Unionthe Branch Union took partin a regionalconferenceinTbilisy.

In 2008 May 14-15, with the invitation of Global Union the president of Branch Union Laura Hakobyan took partin the UNI-Europa-Women-Conference in Switzerland, Neon. The delegations of the following countries also took part in it: Austria, Canada, Belgium, Albania, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cameroon, Japan, Kenya, New Zeeland, Togolese Republic, Trinidad, Tobago, Bulgaria and Uruguay. During the conference Laura Hakobyan was elected as a member of UNI Global UnionWomen’sCommittee, taking into account that the relations with women from other countries will definitely have positive effect in future actions of Branch Union and as a result will help to reduce the concerns of women employees.

In 2008, August 18-24 with the invitation of Branch Union of Banks and Financial organizations in Belarus the Branch Union of Banks, Financial Institutions Employees and Professional Employees of Trade of Armenia where delegating in Minsk with the following staff: Laura Hakobyan – President of Branch Republican Union, RazmikPetrosyan – President of the Trade Union of Central Bank, RoubenOhanjyan – President of the Trade Union of Bank Anelik. The aim of the visit was to conclude a mutually beneficial Agreement that would give our Trade Union the opportunity to acquire rich experience concerning the realization of health, cultural events and, of course, strengthening of good relations between the two nations.

2008November 6-7 with the invitation of UNI Global Unionthe president of Branch Republican Union Laura Hakobyantook part in the Europa-Finance-Conference in Austria, Vienna where also took part Branch Unions of Banks from the following countries: Armenia, Austria, Canada, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United kingdom, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cameroon, Japan, Kenya, New Zeeland, Togolese Republic, Trinidad,Tobago, Bulgaria, Uruguay.

The agenda of the Conference comprised the following 2 issues.

1. The impact of the Global Financial Crisis on the banking system of the above mentioned countries.

2. Issuesrelatedtotheprocessofsgning and implementation of Collective contracts

As thepeoplepresentwereinterstedinthestateofTradeUnionsin ArmeniathepresidentofBranchRepublicanUnionLauraHakobyangave a speechinGermaninwhichshedescribedthecurrentstate of affairs in Armenia. The atmosphere at the conference was active and practical. Impressed by the speech of Laura Hakobyan the Conference Presindency included in the projects of 2009 measures that would impulse positive development of Bracnch Republican Union of Armenian Banks and Financial Organizations. The issue of concluding Collective Contracts was given a great importance and it was assigned to send a delegation to Armenia, comprised of people from Trade Unions of developing countries who have rich experience.

In 2009 UNI Global Unionorganized the following events: 30/09-09 Seminar-Training in Yerevan/ UNI Global Union/ by the UNI Moscow office with the following title “Collective bargaining as an instrument of collective agreement Company” . Members:Branch Republical Union Of Banks, Financial Institutions Employees and Professional Employees of Trade of Armenia, Republican Branch Union of Trade Unions of Armenia, Central Bank of Armenia,Armenian Development Bank, Anelik Bank , Netsoft, ConfederationofTradeUnionsofArmenia, UBA.

11/11-15/11-09թ .InBelgium, BrusselthepresidentofBranchRepublicanUnionUniontookpartinthe /UNI-Europa-Frauen-AusschussesSitzung / Europian Women’s Conference, beingsurethattherelationswithwomenineuropewillstand a positivesteadfortheimprovementofthelifeofwomenofthesystem.

15/12-19/12-09. UNI Clobal Union Subregional conference for the countries ofEasternEuropeandCentral Asia. Themainissuesdiscussedwhere organizing and the interaction of trade unions in the difficult conditions of the financial crisis.

Members states: Armenia, Russia, Switzerland, Khazaghstan, Ghrghsstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Azerbaijan.
